Title“Art‑Together: Lighting Up the Countryside” Project
News Summary
On December 21 the “Art‑Together · Light the Village” cultural‑volunteer showcase, organized by the Qinghai Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, took place on the big community stage in Taobei Village, Chengbei District, Xining. About 400 local residents came to watch.
Since the project began in October 2025, volunteers have set up four learning centers in Xining and Haidong, delivering more than 480 hours of teaching and reaching roughly 220 villagers. The opening ceremony linked the cultural service with the warmth of the winter‑solstice season, using the line “When the winter sun returns, spring is near; long‑standing culture nourishes the land” to remind everyone of the original purpose.
The results were presented in a “Prelude + Three Chapters” format, featuring:
- Dragon‑and‑lion dance
- “Hehuang” folk songs
- Solo flute performances
- Traditional Tu ethnic dance
These programs highlighted how cultural inheritance, ethnic unity, and creative empowerment can all contribute to rural development. A “sharing dumplings” segment let participants enjoy warm food together, ending the event on a note of artistic joy and heartfelt fellowship. The showcase demonstrated both an uplift in villagers’ cultural life and tangible progress toward rural revitalization.
Reflection & Insight
Grass‑roots cultural actions like this remind us that passing on skills and everyday mutual aid are equally vital. The volunteers brought classrooms, stages, and celebrations right into the fields, teaching crafts while drawing the community closer together. Hard work and watchful care take root in daily life, turning small acts of kindness into lasting community strength.
This echoes the simple biblical teaching on how we should treat one another: “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” (Luke 6:31) When we consistently act with sincerity and help one another, change gradually becomes visible.
May more people join their neighborhoods with a humble heart, offering their talents, time, and patience so that rural life continues to improve and flourish.
Scripture
“You want people to treat you the way you treat them.”
